The Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre was created to help local people understand the city's historical importance. It was also created to help them understand their roots and foster a sense of pride in local identity, and thus to help preserve the beauty of local customs and culture. In addition, the centre contributes to conservational tourism by preserving the heritage of the old city centre and giving visitors the opportunity to know and understand the city of Chiang Mai.

ABOUT BAAN KANG WAT

Nattawut “Big” Ruckprasit, one of the current occupants at Baan Kang Wat Market, had the idea of building a village where people could gather in one place. Today, Baan Kang Wat Market is a small artist community home to independently owned shops and businesses, gathering places, cafes, and restaurants. It is a wonderful place to support local artists and craftsmen selling an array of handcrafted products; stationery, accessories, home decor, clothes, and more, community-centered workshops conducted by skilled artists, and cafes and restaurants throughout the town.
